New from Becky Wade | ‘A Love Like Ours’ $100 Cash Card and Prize Pack Giveaway

Fall in love with Becky Wade's new book, A Love Like Ours, a story of healing, romance, and cowboys. A glimmer of the hope Jake thought he’d lost returns when Lyndie lands back in Texas, but fears and regrets still plague him. Will Jake ever be able to love Lyndie like she deserves, or is his heart too shattered to mend?

My Review: Becky Wade gets better and better with each book she releases. This one hit home for me. I know a lot of soldiers who are suffering from PTSD. It's a serious condition. She does an excellent job of portraying the internal struggle Jake deals with on a daily basis. The story was amazing. Catching up with Meg, Bo, Ty, and Celia was great. I also liked the parts with Amber and Will. Being back in Holley, Texas was a peace of heaven.

I loved Lyndie's character. She is compassionate, sweet, caring, kind, generous, and strong-willed. Her faith is not a piece of clothing she puts on and takes off when things get tough. It's as much a part of her as her quirky personality and creativity. I love that about her. Jake, with all his faults and fears, still earned my admiration. As Lyndie frequently describes him, he is tall, dark, and brooding, but he's also fiercely protective and amazingly gentle. Their romance didn't spark and catch right away like it did for Bo and Meg or Ty and Celia. Instead, they both had to overcome almost insurmountable objects to have the kind of relationship they wanted.

The message of the story is about healing and hope. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11 Becky does a great job of weaving her message in a natural way throughout the story. I really like that about her. Her characters live lives that I can relate to. Her stories are relatable.

Overall, I highly recommend this sweet, sweet story. I look forward to more by this amazing author.

About the book:
A Love Like Ours (Bethany House, May 2015)

Former Marine Jake Porter has far deeper scars than the one that marks his face. He struggles with symptoms of PTSD, lives a solitary life, and avoids relationships.

When Lyndie James, Jake's childhood best friend, lands back in Holley, Texas, Jake cautiously hires her to exercise his Thoroughbreds. Lyndie is tender-hearted, fiercely determined, and afraid of nothing, just like she was as a child. Jake pairs her with Silver Leaf, a horse full of promise but lacking in results, hoping she can solve the mystery of the stallion's reluctance to run.

Though Jake and Lyndie have grown into very different adults, the bond that existed during their childhood still ties them together. Against Jake's will, Lyndie's sparkling, optimistic personality begins to tear down the walls he's built around his heart. A glimmer of the hope he'd thought he'd lost returns, but fears and regrets still plague him. Will Jake ever be able to love Lyndie like she deserves, or is his heart too shattered to mend?
