My Reveiw: A Heart's Obsession is the second book in Colleen Coble's Journey of the Heart series. It picks up right where the first book, A Heart's Disguise, leaves off. Rand has left their small town of Wabash, Indiana, again. After Sarah's father passes away from his long time illness, she decides to pick up her life and go after her one true love.

In true Coble style, though, nothing goes as planned. Sarah gets the surprise of her life when she gets to Fort Laramie. Can Sarah trust the Lord with the new reality of her life? I honestly didn't like Rand in this story. He came off as cold and compassionless to Sarah's plight. Hopefully, that changes in the books to come. Trouble follows Sarah to Fort Laramie in the form of Ben Croftner. I will be interested to see what happens later on with him. He is the true definition of evil and scary.

Overall, I really enjoyed this latest installment to the Journey of the Heart series and look forward to the next one!

My Review: This is an awesome book. I love the way it's formatted to show the time lapsing and help keep up with all that's going on. The suspense and mystery were well developed and written. I was guessing right along with the characters until the very end. With all the twists and turns the story takes, I wasn't able to guess the outcome, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I loved the characters. Their charisma, spark, and spunk kept me engaged and actively following their romance. Laurel Everston is a strong, independent woman scarred by life. Even though she's been dealt a rough hand, she is doing her best to rise above her circumstances. Daniel Hilton is a sweet, tough guy. His devotion to do the right thing, follow God, and to help Laurel is what made him the man he is.

Morton Wilmington's conversion and ultimate sacrifice was an amazing picture of the love and care Christians should have. His faith, though new, was strong and he tried his best to show it in every facet of his life and to make amends with those he wounded before he went to prison. I believe his life and that of Daniel's faith and beliefs is what ultimately led to Laurel's conversion.

Overall, if you're looking for a thrilling story that will keep you guessing until the very end, this is the one for you!

Read the First Chapter

My Review: What a sweet, sweet story. Jan Watson writes a captivating story of a girl trying to find her way in the world. Her style of writing is soft, like a down feather. There isn't a lot of action, mystery, or adventure, but it is engaging, none the less. Not many authors can write a story like that and hold my attention.

I love Mazy Pelfrey. I could see a lot of myself in her characteristics. She is young, naive, innocent, and sweet. She has all of the normal characteristics of a teenager trying to find her place in society and life. Chanis Clay is a great male lead. He is loyal, strong, and kindhearted.

Both of these characters struggle with finding their way into themselves, live, and love throughout the book. One thing that the author did not downplay was their reliance on their faith to help them make the right decisions, even when that wasn't the first place they sought guidance.

Overall, this is a sweet coming of age story. I look forward to reading more by this wonderful author!

My Review: Wow, this was a great read! I have not read any books by Janice Thompson, so I didn't know what to expect. I was not disappointed. As many bloggers and reviewers have already stated, this book brings to mind the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It is filled with the humorous adventures of two large families, competing with each other to be the best. It is also packed with biblical life lessons that the characters have to overcome and accept. The author does a great job of mixing faith with life, making the story believable without being over-the-top preachy.

I loved the characters! Cassia Pappas appeared a little wishy-washy to me at first, but as I got into the story, I understood. Cassia is struggling with her loyalty to the plan she believes God has laid out for her and her loyalty to her family. Her humor and passion for what she does really draws me to her as a character. Alex Rigas is a sweet, southern gentleman. I loved him from the beginning. While he's a more subtle male lead that I'm used to, he is no less important. His steadfastness and strength helps Cassia overcome her situation, and makes me admire him. The secondary characters, Babbas and Mama Pappas, as well as the Rossi family, makes the story interesting and fun.

As I said above, the author mixes life lessons and faith in this fun, fast-paced story. These characters have to learn to trust God to help them overcome jealousy, bitterness, and most of all: living what you preach. I loved this story and recommend it to anyone who wants to read a fun, fast-paced love story with great principles mixed in.

My Review: This is my first look at Last Chance with Cathleen Armstrong, and it won't be my last. This book can read as a stand alone novel, but I will definitely be picking up the first one. Change is hard for some people to accept. The people of Last Chance are no different. I loved the feeling I got of Last Chance. It is a place where everybody knows everybody and word spreads like wildfire, but there are no greater people in the world and everybody has your back. At least, that's the impression the author gave me!

Sarah Cooley is a short little spitfire who is trying to find herself after a relationship gone bad. Chris Reed is the new owner of the Dip 'n' Dine, and is determined to breathe new life into the restaurant and Last Chance. When their paths cross, sparks fly. I would have loved to see a little more character development on Sarah's part and I would also have loved to see more sparks fly between the two. I definitely agree they belonged together, but I just didn't feel the flame.

Each character faces change in different ways. Their faith in the Lord, that He will guide their paths, is something each characters learns. The ending, for me, was a little rushed and anticlimactic. It felt like there was a bang in Sarah's life, then all of a sudden we're at the end (that's the only way I could explain it without spoilers, so forgive me for the vagueness!). Overall, it was a very engaging story and I would recommend it to readers looking for a laid back, easy read.

My Review: What a powerful story! The plot was fast moving, but it took a while to get into. Jennifer and Rodrigo's relationship brings up a good point. Should a Christian be with a non-Christian? I wish the thought was expounded on more in the story. It lingered in the back of my mind as I read. Did the events that take place in Jennifer and Rodrigo's life occur because they were outside of God's will? Could that heartache and pain they suffered been avoided? I love stories that provoke questions and then have them answered in the end!

I feel like the characters were very well developed. The author did a great job of portraying their feelings and thoughts. I was emotionally attached to the characters by the end of the book because of it. Jennifer's fall, rise, fall and rise were very well hashed out. I felt what she was feeling and sympathized with her. I would have loved to hear more about Rodrigo's transformation, though. What I did read made me want to know more!

Overall, though it took some time to really get into, the story had a powerful message. God can take any situation, good or bad, and turn it around for His glory. All we have to do is let Him. Each character experiences God's grace, mercy, and redemption in a very poignant way. I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more!

This is a story centered on God’s healing power of grace and mercy. People like Jennifer, Rodrigo (and Stefano), and Chidi exist in our world today, hurting from the choices and the

If you find yourself in such a position, or you know someone drowning in pain, please, let them know that God’s arms are wide-open to receive and heal anyone who will earnestly come to Him. He says in His Word in Heb. 4:16 that we can come boldly before the throne of grace to seek grace and mercy for when we need it. Do not lose hope that you can be healed and fully restored. There is no sin that God can’t forgive, and there’s no one He’ll turn away. Come to Him today and receive your healing!
